So I went to the doctor's office for a physical, because I haven't had one in forever and I'm in reasonably good health. (Ironically I had scheduled the appointment last week and then this weekend I had gotten injured). A couple things I learned: schedule an appointment in the morning because a lot of the lab tests and blood work needs to be done when you haven't eaten for 10-12 hours, and I can't go a whole day without eating. Testicular cancer is the most common form of cancer for men 19-34. Men need to examine themselves regularly for it. The Palo Alto Medical Foundation seems really good. I plan to get sick/injured more so I can go back regularly. They have some neat online features where you can see all the results of any lab tests online. My doctor also recommended seeing an optometrist even though I've never had any vision problems. My finger wasn't broken which was a relief, I didn't think it was, but having a doctor confirm it was good. She

Some other things about the triathlon I forgot to mention.. It was incredibly hot. Hotter than hell, about 95 in the shade, 100+ in the sun. I feel really sorry for the people who were out on the course starting at 11am or later and they were going to take 5 hours to complete it. That would've been insane.

With 3300 people in the olympic distance and 2800 in the long course and 2000 in the mountain bike it was by far the biggest event I've ever been to although it was over two days instead of just one. It wouldn't surprise me if it were the biggest triathlon ever.
